Overview
Driver Rater is a vehicle-focused social networking platform designed to improve road safety through community-driven feedback and accountability. The app allows road users to rate and review vehicles using a 5-star system while maintaining privacy and security for all participants. Unlike traditional social media, Driver Rater focuses on vehicles rather than individuals, enabling safe interaction between drivers, corporate fleets, and transportation companies. Built with Swift and UIKit, the app features a powerful vehicle search system using license plate recognition, allowing users to quickly find vehicles and view comprehensive feedback histories. Users can post reviews with ratings, photos, and video evidence using the integrated dashcam feature. The media gallery displays content in both grid and list formats, with full-screen video playback via AVPlayer for detailed incident review. Key technical implementations include video upload functionality with vehicle image overlays for context, AVFoundation-based video recording and playback, and role-based access control supporting both individual drivers and corporate fleet managers. The app enables users to switch seamlessly between Individual and Corporate driver profiles.
